Urmston Meds Eagles are hosting a charity football match on Sunday 31st July 2022 at Trafford Football Club to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, a cause close to our hearts and so many associated to the team.
Two of our team have sadly both lost their dads due to undiagnosed heart conditions. Dom Davidson lost his dad, Don Davidson on 6th November 2014 and Tom Coy lost his dad, Steve Coy on 16th January 2020. What did they both have in common? Aside from being great men, devoted to their families, at different times, they both coached Urmston Meadowside Eagles and won the Timperley & District Junior Football League Division 1 Title.
Steve was the Urmston Meadowside Eagles manager from 2001-2009. Don then took over the reins from 2009-2014. After Steve’s passing in January 2020, the Urmston Meadowside Eagles team decided to reunite to play in their honour, with the addition of a few new faces!
In addition to the expected attendance, we would love to get as many people down as possible on Sunday 31st July to celebrate the lives of two great men and raise as much money as possible for a very worthwhile cause. Please feel free to share the event amongst as many family and friends and we look forward to seeing you there!

Couple of quick shout outs....
Trafford FC Chairman - John Eadie
A huge thank you to you for kindly agreeing to let us use the venue for the day. I can’t thank you enough for such a meaningful gesture to a team with roots to the local area. Hopefully we can repay you with a fantastic attendance and a great game of football.
Kit Sponsorship - John R Tollitt’s Funeral Service & Lee Johnstone
The assistance of now a close friend providing funding to a local team, in addition to the kindness you showed to me, Emma and my family whilst my dad was in your care.
And lastly, but most importantly....
Urmston Meds Eagles
Without the commitment and dedication you lads have all shown over the last 2 years, none of this would even be possible. As manager, I'm beyond proud of you all. You’re a huge credit to both Steve and Don!
The British Heart Foundation funds around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They’re all connected. Your support powers our life saving research. You are our heroes. The money you raise, the items you donate and the time you volunteer helps protect the people you love. Your children, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents and closest friends.
The aim: Our vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. A world without heartbreak!
