Impressive pre-season form continues......

Trafford’s impressive pre-season form continued on Saturday with an excellent 2-1 victory over NPL Premier Division side Warrington Rylands at the Shawe View Stadium.
The visitors were on top in the opening stages, playing quick incisive football, but Trafford defended stoutly and sprung into action in the 11th minute when Max Hazeldine chipped the ball over Luke Pilling but onto the roof of the net. Pilling then parried a thunderous drive by Dimitrious Rami but was powerless to prevent the hosts from taking the lead in the 19th minute with a truly sensational goal.
Tom Bentham flighted a glorious cross-field pass into the path of right back Ally Brown who took one touch before unleashing a magnificent shot from 25 yards that arrowed into the top corner.
Defences were on top for the remainder of the first half although Rylands striker Mo Touray was unfortunate not to equalise four minutes before the interval when his angled drive from just outside the penalty area cannoned back into play off the crossbar.
Trafford doubled their lead in the 49th minute although this time Bentham was rather fortunate with his assist when his scuffed shot from the left fell kindly to Max Hazeldine who had a simple tap in from six yards.
A free kick by Ben Hardcastle flew inches over and Adam Sidehbi went close with a spectacular overhead kick as Rylands sought to get back in the game and on the hour both teams made wholesale changes to their line-ups.
And in the 64th minute Trafford were punished for their poor defensive work when goalkeeper Niall Jordan hesitated when coming to collect a through ball, Tyker Beck dithered in attempting to shepherd the ball out of play and Edy Maiceo seized on the ball to crash a great shot into the opposite top corner.
Despite this setback, Trafford dominated the closing stages with Yaw Osei seeing a shot deflected wide and then striking the crossbar from just four yards.
At the other end, Niall Jordan pushed a low drive by Colin Oppong past the upright but Trafford finished the stronger and Alfie Belcher should have made it three when his close range shot was saved by Matt Wright following a great run by Oli Ford.
Manager Danny Caldecott was delighted with the performance of his young team who now travel to play New Mills on Tuesday night before entertaining Ashton United at Shawe View on Saturday.
