Lusakueno magic inspires first win of the new era!

Young Matty Lusakueno scored two sensational individual goals to give Trafford their first league win of the season and move them off the bottom of the NPL West Division table.
The visitors were just on top in the opening stages with Jake Kirby-Reed firing over in the 3rd minute and Byron Harrison shooting weakly at Brad Rose shortly afterwards.
In the 25th minute Town took the lead when poor defending by Trafford following a free kick from the right allowed Troy Bourne to half-volley home from 15 yards.
Seven minutes later Sean Cooke almost made it two when he broke clear in the inside right position and blasted a rasping drive against the crossbar.
The hosts were finding it difficult to break down the well-disciplined Town defence until 18 year old Lusakueno gained possession out on the left in the 35th minute and sped past four defenders before planting a crisp right footed shot past Daniel Roberts and into the bottom corner to make it 1-1.
Lusakueno then teed up Trafford skipper Danny Lambert who cracked a drive just over from the edge of the penalty area and the first half ended with Troy Bourne foolishly picking up two yellow cards in the space of three minutes that led to his dismissal.
Despite being reduced to ten men, Town dominated the opening exchanges of the second half with Trafford keeper Brad Rose saving a low shot by Kai Evans and then producing a stunning save to tip a Steven Hewitt thunderbolt over the crossbar.
From the resultant corner, Trafford scrambled the ball clear with Damola Sotona feeding Lusakueno out on the left and just inside his own half. The youngster set off on another lightning fast run down his flank leaving three Town defenders in his wake before unleashing a thunderous drive that flew inside the far post.
Trafford centre back Kwame Osigwe then timed a last ditch tackle on Byron Harrison to perfection as the Town striker threatened to break clear with the visitors battling spiritedly for an equaliser, Cameron Rooney seeing his shot deflected over and Kai Evans making a great run down the left before his low cross was cleared.
But it was Trafford who finished the game the stronger with Mike Burke firing onto the roof of the net from 25 yards and then curling a low drive that was deflected just wide.
The final whistle signalled a tremendous victory for Karl Marginson’s newly assembled side and they will be hoping to build on this on Saturday when they travel to play Witton Albion.
